WageWatch is a legal technology platform that helps workers understand whether they are being paid correctly. Through its mobile app, users record their employment contracts and work activities, receive an estimate of their expected earnings, and see the discrepancies that may indicate underpayment. CodigoDelSur built the platform from scratch: the mobile app, the backend, and the calculation engine underneath both.
Salary calculation is complex, and most workers do not know the labor law that determines what they are owed, so underpayment goes unnoticed. WageWatch needed a system that could translate labor regulations into reliable calculations, and give attorneys a way to identify, organise and assess potential claims. It also had to surface recurring underpayment patterns across unions and employers, so attorneys could prioritise the cases worth pursuing.
CodigoDelSur worked closely with the WageWatch team to learn the labor rules behind the product, then built and validated the core algorithm that estimates a worker's expected earnings, testing it against extensive use cases and data simulations. The data architecture was designed to absorb new rules as the platform grew. Workers got an intuitive mobile experience, attorneys a dedicated back office to review, organise and analyse the data. CodigoDelSur delivered a working MVP that performs general salary calculations under US labor law, built with a particular focus on New York and New Jersey regulations but designed to cover workers across all US territories. Workers get a practical way to understand what they should be earning, and attorneys get the data they need to identify and evaluate potential underpayment claims.
