CodigoDelSur builds custom software for companies in the United States and the rest of the world from Montevideo, Uruguay. This policy explains what we collect on www.codigodelsur.com, why, and what you can do about it. It covers this website only, not the products we build for our clients.

Information you give us

We collect what you type into our forms and chat:

• Contact and project forms: your name, email address, company, phone number if you choose to add it, and whatever you write in the message field.
• Live chat: the messages you send us through the chat window, and the email address you give us so we can reply.
• Email: if you write to us directly, we keep the thread.
• Job applications: this site has no application form and we do not collect CVs here. If you write to us about a job, by email or through the contact form, we keep what you send while we are considering you for a role.

We do not ask for credit card numbers or payment details anywhere on this site, and we never collect them.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours records technical information when you visit: the pages you open, the site or search that sent you, your approximate location based on IP address, your browser and device type, and how long you stay. This is collected through the tools listed below, and we use it in aggregate to understand which pages are useful.

The tools we use, and what each one does

• Webflow hosts this website. Webflow sets the cookies needed for the site to work.
• Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, measures traffic: pages, sources, sessions.
• HubSpot runs our live chat and stores the contact details you send us, so that the person who answers you has your message.
• LinkedIn Insight Tag measures whether our LinkedIn campaigns bring visits.
• Clixtell measures which ads and which visits turn into inquiries.
• Ahrefs Analytics measures site traffic for our own SEO work.

These tools set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser. Some of them are third-party cookies, which means the company that provides the tool can read them.

What we do with it

• Answer your message and follow up about the project you asked about.
• Send you information you asked for, and occasional email about our services if you gave us your address for that.
• Understand which pages and which sources bring the people who contact us.
• Keep the site working, secure and reasonably fast.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not trade it.

Who we share it with

Only with the providers listed above, which process the data on our behalf so we can run the site and answer you, and with anyone we are legally required to share it with. Our clients never receive your data from this site.

Where your data is processed

Our team works from Uruguay, and the providers above are based mostly in the United States. That means your information is processed in both places.

How long we keep it

We keep what you send through a form or the chat for as long as the conversation is useful to the relationship, and analytics data for as long as the tool retains it under our settings. If you want your data deleted, write to info@codigodelsur.com and we will do it.

Your choices

• Cookies: your browser can warn you before a cookie is set, or block them entirely. If you block them, parts of the site may stop working properly.
• Analytics: you can install Google's opt-out add-on, which stops Google Analytics on every site you visit.
• Advertising: LinkedIn's ad settings let you control what LinkedIn uses to target you.
• Email: every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. You can also write to info@codigodelsur.com and we take you off every list.
• Access and deletion: write to info@codigodelsur.com and tell us what you want us to do with the information we hold about you. This applies wherever you live, including if you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California.

Do not track

Browsers can send a Do Not Track signal. There is no shared standard for what a site should do with it, and the tools listed above do not act on it, so this site does not respond to it either. The controls under "Your choices" are the ones that work.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to the contact information you send us is limited to the people who need it to answer you, and the tools we use to store it are the ones described above.

Children

This site is aimed at businesses, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child sent us information, write to info@codigodelsur.com and we will delete it.

If something goes wrong

If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you by email without undue delay once we know what happened and who is affected.

Changes to this policy

If we change the tools we use or what we do with your data, we update this page and change the date below.
