Tooth Magic Memory helps families turn a lost tooth into something worth keeping: personalised postcards from the Tooth Fairy, interactive chats, child profiles and a record of each milestone with its photos and messages. CodigoDelSur built the iOS app, including the custom image processing that composites a Tooth Fairy character into a family's own photographs. It is available in seven languages.
The product only works if the illusion holds. A composited character that sits flatly on top of a photograph is obviously a sticker, and a five year old is a demanding audience for this particular effect. Getting it to look like the Tooth Fairy was in the room means real image processing, on device, on photographs the app has never seen before, taken in whatever light a bedroom has at ten at night.
CodigoDelSur built the iOS application and its custom image processing, compositing the Tooth Fairy character into family photographs convincingly enough to work as a keepsake. Around it the team built personalised postcard generation, the interactive chat with the character, per-child profiles, milestone tracking for each lost tooth, and photo and message keepsakes, with subscriptions and in-app purchases. Stack: Swift, Node.js, iOS, UX/UI.
The iOS app was designed and built in about five months in 2023, and shipped in seven languages. It brings custom photo compositing, personalised postcards, interactive chat, child profiles and milestone keepsakes into a single family product with subscriptions and in-app purchases.
