Vartender

The client

Vartender’s co-founders were frustrated because they were having trouble organizing their personal liquor collections, so they decided to build a solution. Veteran Bartender, aka Vartender, is a mobile application built specifically for whiskey lovers to keep track of their collections and help other collectors too.

The challenge

The client came to us with the idea of building an MVP for their mobile app solution. Along the process, they decided to go beyond an MVP and add a few more features than the ones they initially had in mind, in order to launch an enhanced version of the original product. One of the biggest challenges, though, was to create an app that would meet the expectations of the target audience in terms of design: the user experience had to be flawless so that users would stay engaged.

our approach

We assembled a team of experts in mobile development & UX/UI design to tackle this project. Over the course of six months, the initial version of the iOS app - with more features than originally envisioned - was developed. Halfway through the iOS app, we started working on the Android version, benefitting from the fact that everything was already planned for the iOS version so it was easier and faster to complete.

The result

Users can scan any whiskey bottle, add tasting notes and details regarding smell, rate them, and more! A database including over 1.000 whiskey bottles will allow you to successfully scan the barcode on your bottle and get its picture and info to then add it to your inventory. Both Android and iOS versions are available so every whiskey lover in town can enjoy it!
