Funmatic’s team vision was to create an AI-based platform that allowed the user to receive event’s recommendations of any kind (professional, fun, social, show) according to the user’s personal taste. In addition, the platform should allow the user to interact with their contacts about those events. All of this is made possible by the integration of two of the world’s largest databases: Eventbrite and Ticketmaster.
This project consisted of two fundamental pillars when addressing the technical back end challenges. First, the creation of an AI-engine that allowed the platform to recognize the user’s personal taste and then recommend events based on those results. Second, the complete integration of Eventbrite’s and Ticketmaster’s APIs, allowing users to gain access to the enormous database of said platforms in a completely transparent way integrated with Funmatic.
We assigned a 3-person team who started working in the development of an MVP, and afterward, in a more fully-featured version for both iOS and Android. After encountering several limitations in Eventbrite’s and Ticketmaster’s APIs, we were able to work around them and successfully integrate them into the platform. Regarding the user experience, we were able to provide an easy-to-use and straightforward product, making it look like the back end complexities are super simple when they are not!
After 6 months of work, we delivered solid iOS and Android versions that were successfully launched to the stores in November of 2019. Given the situation with Covid-19, anything event-related is being severely affected, thus, Funmatic is on stand-by until the situation improves to set their marketing efforts in motion and launch their new product.
